Pingtung County, located at the southernmost tip of southwestern Taiwan, is also the narrowest county in western Taiwan from north to south. It is bordered by Kaohsiung City to the north and Dawu Mountain and Taitung County to the east. It is located in a tropical area with a tropical atmosphere. The industrial structure of Pingtung County emphasizes agriculture and fishery, but in recent years, it has vigorously promoted the tourism industry. Burdock, red beans, preserved eggs, salted duck eggs, red duck eggs, pineapples, mangoes, candied dates, lotus mist (black pearls), grouper, cherry shrimp, Black tuna, cocoa, and onions have become the most representative specialties of Pingtung County.
